Resplendent

Childhood, Parenting, Random poetry Add comments

Hiya 🙂

A nice wee scene popped into my head with my first reading of today’s words, so it wasn’t too taxing to write you a poem 😉

Crayon  Acid  Uneven  Third  Verse  Morning  Language  Dare  Overjoyed

There was a little crayon man

Resplendent in acid yellow,

(A touch uneven where the paper met,

But for an artist just past his third birthday

I thought it was a decent job)

I didn’t give him chapter and verse

About how we don’t draw on walls, that morning;

I chose warmer language

And praised his efforts

Before giving him an A3 pad…

Why wouldn’t he dare to be overjoyed

With a sprawling blank canvas,

Conveniently stuck there

From baseboard to roof?!

I think “gifting him an A3 pad” would be the only immediate change I’d make.

Take care, and I’ll ‘see’ you tomorrow!
