Obliquity

Mental Health, Random poetry Add comments

Hello!

I relied heavily on what I read when looking up Nyx and Daphne on Wikipedia for tonight’s poem.  Although it is a Jimpix day, the words had a bit of a shared theme in parts, so I had a fair idea where I was going 🙂

I quite like it when that happens on a Saturday night!!

Jenny  Raindrop  Nyx  Insidious  Virus  Dinero  Obliquity  Daphne  Ninja

The suspended Jenny Longlegs quivered

As a raindrop ran, shining,

Down the full length of the web.

Like Nyx, the spider waited

In her shadowy hole;

Flexing her own lengthy limbs in glee

At the insidious beauty of it all.

I felt the virus rise in me

(My card never quite expired,

Some Dinero always burning to be cast)

The obliquity seemed a life metaphor…

And I became as Daphne:

My once-ninja feet tangled up in roots,

My features amongst leaves,

Obscuring all but my need to hide

From that which repeatedly pursues me.
