Heading For Change

Mental Health, Random poetry Add comments

Hey 🙂

Well, the poem kind of speaks for itself today: I’m on a Tony Robbins kick this week!

I am determined not to just hibernate this winter…

Successful  Notice  Offer  Change  Touch  Grab  Smelly  Uppity  Branch

What does it mean to be successful?

He stands there on stage,

And I notice that smile

He has in every video:

He’s enjoying himself.

The audience is rapt

And, while I stand here ironing school clothes,

He’s going to offer me up

Everything I need to change.

He’s going to invite me

To get in touch with my emotions,

Really notice how

I’m holding myself back.

He’s going to tell me to grab the moment,

That I’m not getting any younger;

These smelly old thoughts

Weighing me down

Need aired (and cleansed).

And it’s hard to get uppity

With someone speaking sense.

(Anyway, he can’t hear me!)

I could spiel that: “he’s not a mum

Or even a woman!”

That: “my days

Look very different to his!”

But, still, I need to branch out.

I turn over shirt sleeves

And think about leaves…
