An Ode Owed – #NaPoWriMo20 – Day 18

Hey there 😊

It’s fun having a prompt site declare it is challenging you to write an ode to life’s small pleasures! I came up with this wee four liner:

Oh blossom, poised ‘tween bud and bloom!

Oh birdsong, heard in sunlit rooms;

Oh sweetened breeze, oh warmer air:

How much you tempt me from my chair!

The pic is from our cherry blossom out the front, that Eldest has always referred to as ‘his’ tree. It is right outside our south-facing livingroom (and his bedroom window too) and I have spent many a happy crafting/tea/art/writing break looking out at the birds hopping along familiar branches over the last decade-and-a-bit.

I saw a picture on Facebook of the gorgeous (pink) cherry blossom tree in my inlaws’ garden, that my MIL had posted. They live in Ireland, and theirs seems to be further along than ours, and I should imagine it gets a bit more TLC than ours does, too!

Having spent the first five years of my life in Edinburgh, and then returning to live there for 18 months in Hubby’s flat before we moved to our current house, blossom to me always puts me in mind of The Meadows. Spring is definitely my favourite season!

What are you revelling in at the moment? Let me know in the comments 😊

Big hugs, stay safe, and onwards to Day 19!
